DONNYBROOKS WEEKEND WRAP!

The weather has once again played its part this weekend, with our A1 and A3 sides unable to get underway. Fortunately, the A4 boys managed to get a full game in at Kapunda!

A1 – Nuriootpa v Willaston

Unfortunately, rain prevented any play at Nuriootpa, with the two-day fixture now set to be played as a one-day match next Saturday.

The A1 boys will be keen to get back out there after another frustrating weekend on the sidelines.

A3 – Willaston v Nuriootpa

It was a similar story for Thommo and the A3 boys, with no play possible at Elliot Goodger Memorial Park.

The match will now be decided in a one-day contest next Saturday, with the boys hoping for some better weather!

A4 – Kapunda v Willaston

Our A4 side managed to get a game in at Kapunda, but unfortunately came up against a strong home side.

Batting first, Kapunda posted 258 from 39.2 overs.

There were some encouraging performances with the ball, led by Harry Pyecroft (4/54) and Lincoln O’Malley (3/55), while Hayden Willis chipped in with 2/22.

In reply, the Donnys were dismissed for 106, going down by 152 runs.

The highlight with the bat was Lincoln O’Malley, who fought hard to finish unbeaten on 50 from 51 balls, including five fours and a six!

Prashant Tripathi (15) and Mack Filsellschubert (14) also made contributions.

While the result wasn’t what the boys were after, there were some individual positives to take away, particularly Lincoln’s all-round performance.

With plenty of young players continuing to find their feet in senior cricket, the experience will be valuable as the season progresses.

Hopefully we can get all three sides back out on the park next Saturday!
