On behalf of the club, Thank You to everyone who attended our AGM on Monday Night.

We are impressed with the number of people in attendance, and the abundance of people nominating to be a part of our Committee. It is exciting to see and a great reflection of the support our netball club has heading into season 2025.

We still have one significant position available for anyone interested:

Sponsorship Coordinator

Please reach out to secretary@willastonnetballclub.com.au with your interest.

This Role is very important and will receive a lot of support and attention from our broader committee members to ensure it is set up for success. We are keen to hit the ground running and are open to ideas on making this role the best it can be. We hope to hear from you soon.

Congratulations to our elected members. We will continue meeting regularly through the off-season giving opportunity to plan and set the foundations for a successful 2025.

If you have constructive feedback you would like to provide our Committee, on the season that was or for our future, please contact us via email: secretary@willastonnetballclub.com.au.

Here’s to striving for success in 2025.
Thank you

Match Report U12 Round 1

Captains Isaac and Tait lost the toss and were sent into bowl on a very wet pitch. As a team we bowled really well bowling Gilbert Valley out for 52. Tait and Jet opened the bowling and bowled very well. Tait bowled a very good line and length and was rewarded with an LBW. Jet bowled straight at the stumps and managed to bowl someone, he also was the wicketkeeper after drinks . Koa bowled 2 overs for 0 runs bowling in very good areas. Isaac bowled very tight and only went for 5 runs. Morgan and Orlando came on and both took 2 wickets with Orlando being on a hat trick ball and Morgan bowling very good line and length. Adam was next with the ball and bowled 4 overs for only 4 runs and took a good catch in the field. Hamish took 2 wickets in his first cricket match and bowled really well. Jackson bowled 2 very tidy overs after doing an excellent job wicket keeping before drinks.

A week later and another long drive to Saddleworth later it was our turn to bat. We managed to chase down the 52 runs but my goodness we made it hard for ourselves finishing with 7-53. A lot of the wickets were caused by trying to hit the ball too hard and the feedback from the players seemed to all be similar in which they all want to work on their defence. However Isaac batted well making 19 off 35 then retiring and coming back into bat finishing with 33 off 43 not out. A special mention to Orlando hitting a crucial 4 and not getting out to help win the game.

Overall a good start to the year with many things to improve upon. Speaking with Michael we are excited for what lies ahead this season for all players.
