🏏🔴🔵 ROUND 1 – TWO FROM TWO FOR THE DONNYBROOKS! 🔵🔴🏏
What a way to kick off the 2026/27 season, with both senior sides hitting the road and coming home with convincing wins! 💪
🏏 A1 GRADE – DONNYBROOKS WIN BY 8 WICKETS!
Making their return to A1 cricket, the boys travelled to Eudunda and got the season off to a flying start!
Bowling first, the Donnybrooks restricted Eudunda Robertstown to 4/167 from their 40 overs.
Justin Davies led the way with an outstanding spell of 2/23 from 8 overs, including 3 maidens, while Travis McIntyre (1/32) and Jye Stephens (1/25) also chipped in.
With the bat, skipper Dylan McIver led from the front with an unbeaten 78, combining with Bradley Woodward, who smashed an unbeaten 69 from just 63 balls, including 8 fours and 4 sixes!
The boys cruised to 2/173 in 37 overs to secure a fantastic first-up win back in A1!
🏏 A3 GRADE – DONNYBROOKS WIN BY 161 RUNS!
The reigning premiers picked up right where they left off last season, putting together a dominant performance against Lyndoch at Barossa Park!
Batting first, the Donnybrooks posted an impressive 7/230, with Zac Lowe leading the charge with 62, Adam Lewis making a classy 50, and valuable contributions from skipper Scott Thompson (35), Max Gray (31) and Mark Gebauer (30).
The bowlers then went to work, ripping through Lyndoch for just 69!
Max Gray was outstanding, finishing with 2/1 from just 1.4 overs, while Tyson Anderson (2/4) and Zac Lowe (2/12) also claimed two wickets each.
A massive 161-run victory to start the premiership defence in style!
🔴🔵 TWO GAMES. TWO WINS. A PERFECT START!
Plenty of great individual performances across both grades, but more importantly, two fantastic team efforts to get the season underway.
Well done to everyone who pulled on the Donnybrooks colours this weekend!
