It is with a heavy heart that the Willaston Football, Netball and Cricket Club, share with our community the recent passing of our beloved Louise Palk.

We extend our deepest condolences, love, and support to the Palk family as they navigate their heartbreaking loss.

Lou whole heartedly embodied the spirit of Willaston. She was dedicated and dependable, Lou gave so much of herself to our club and community.

Whether it was being a supportive Mum to her three boys, serving as Head Trainer and volunteering behind the scenes as a member of the Football Club committee. Her extraordinary service was recognised with the prestigious Don “Eagle” Window Award.

Lou, like the rest of the Palk family always gave to the club even when trying to "step back" and "have a break" and "do something for themselves", she geared up and donned the Willaston netball dress on Saturdays and the Willaston football guernsey on Sundays. Continuing to volunteer, coach and play for many years.

We would like to share a gentle reminder inspired by a recent post of Lou’s
“And one day, you realise it was never about the big things … it’s about the simplest of seconds that make you smile. It’s about the genuine experiences that fill your heart with joy.”

Let this be a gentle reminder to hug your loved ones a little tighter, truly immerse yourself in community life and cherish the little moments of joy.

To honour Lou’s memory, our Netball and Football teams will wear black armbands on Round 12, 19th of July against Freeling.

In every game we play and every laugh we share, may your spirit live on. For as you stood by us, so too shall we forever stand by you and your family.

If you are able to, please join us in supporting the Palk family in farewelling Lou at her funeral on Monday the 21st of July 10:30am, at Taylor and Forgie Chapel, Adelaide Road Gawler.
The family asks in lieu of flowers and gifts, could a donation please be made to the Cancer Council Australia #OneinAllin

We send our love and deepest sympathies to the Palk family ❤️. She ran Auskick a few years ago Orlando adored her—always proudly telling everyone, “She was my Auskick coach!” He was so excited when she came up to him at the pageant. A fun, kind-natured and beautiful person—she gave great advice and loved a laugh. ❤️💙❤️💙
